Agilent Technologies Announces Expansion of Hermon Labs' Acoustic Wireless Handset Conformance Test Solution

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 08 November 2012 Release date- 07112012 - SANTA CLARA, Calif - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that Hermon Labs has expanded its acoustic testing for GSM, CDMA, W-CDMA and 3GPP to include the latest acoustical testing for LTE and Voice over LTE using Agilent's E6621A PXT wireless communications test set.

Hermon Labs offers global compliance test solutions that include EMC, radio, product safety, environment and telecom. Hermon Labs now supports Agilent's E6621A as a base-station emulator, while its TCA4100 and TCA8200 software controls and measures the tests according to the TS 36.523, TS 26.131 and ETSI 126.131 acoustical standards.

The tests are performed over an IMS gateway in IPV6 and IPV4 modes to verify all of the relevant AMR-WB codecs. All acoustic conformance tests are controlled from one turnkey solution with results formatted and exported into a convenient Microsoft Word document. The combined test solution has been validated to comply with the TS standards, ensuring a high level of reliability and quality for acoustic conformance testing.

'Our industry-leading collaboration in acoustical testing has been a core focus of our approach to product development and testing since our days as one-box compliance solution for analog PSTN, acoustic, xDSL, VoIP, T1, E1 and ISDN PRI interfaces,' said Alex Usoskin, CEO of Hermon Labs. 'Our customers see the benefit through faster product approvals, and the operators gain assurance on the quality and maturity of the resulting handsets.' 'Our work with Hermon Labs to include VoLTE voice-quality testing using the Agilent PXT wireless communications test set further expands our LTE functional test capabilities,' said Joe DePond, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Mobile Broadband Operation. 'This comprehensive and cost-effective acoustic test solution helps meet the challenge of providing quality voice services in the packet-based LTE system.' Robust Enterprise Grade WebRTC Systems and Services

The emerging WebRTC standard has become one of the industry's hottest topics – and with good reason. Being able to "communications enable the web" has Communications Service Providers as well as Enterprises busily making plans for deployment. But, as these plans unfold, reality is starting to intrude on those plans. Our expectations of telephony services are much higher than web browsing. We expect the phone to connect instantly, operate with minimal disruption, and work seamless across any network, anywhere, at any time. There is also an understanding that phone service is inherently secure. With WebRTC, the expectation is for these applications to behave in the same manner.

This session looks at the user experience and expectations of a WebRTC Enterprise service. It will also cover how a WebRTC enterprise handles security, reliability, and interoperability within browsers and networks.

ORACLE COMMUNICATIONS WEBRTC SESSION CONTROLLER SOLUTION

Communication Service Provider (CSP) voice service revenues continue to face pressure due to shifts in communication preferences and competition from non-traditional service providers. Voice communications are now often embedded into applications outside the domain of traditional telephony voice usage. CSPs have been challenged to effectively leverage and monetize new web-oriented communications technologies.
