CalAmp names new SVP of marketing and business development

Wireless product provider CalAmp Corp. (NASDAQ: CAMP) said it has appointed wireless industry veteran Justin Schmid to the position of senior vice president of marketing and business development, with responsibility for corporate marketing, branding, communications and partner relations, as well as overall positioning and global market development.
Schmid will report directly to CalAmp's president and CEO, Michael Burdiek.
"Justin is a talented wireless industry marketing executive whose proven skills and in-depth industry experience will be invaluable in advancing CalAmp's strategic growth initiatives. He will play a key role in nurturing and strengthening CalAmp's carrier alliances and further developing our partnerships globally within the M2M ecosystem," said Burdiek.
With more than 25 years of experience in high-tech industries, including 16 years in commercial wireless M2M and data communications markets, Schmid has served in a variety of executive positions at start-up and later-stage private companies, as well as established public corporations. Schmid earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
