Marvell G.hn Chipset Drives Cambridge Industries Group's Home Networking Products

LAS VEGAS and SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL) today announced that Cambridge Industries Group (CIG) has designed systems based on the Marvell G.hn chipset for home networking applications. Marvell is at the forefront of deploying G.hn-enabled products for fast and powerful connectivity in the delivery of multimedia content to Smart TVs and devices in the Smart Home. CIG joins a growing list of OEM partners in Marvell's second wave of G.hn design wins, accelerating the global adoption of the extensible ITU-T standard designed to provide connectivity at data rates up to 1 Gbit/s over standard forms of home wiring, including electrical wires, coaxial cables, twisted pair and optical fiber.

(Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20100719/SF36559LOGO-b) CIG's G.hn systems, the HN-300-A1CN and the HN-100-A1E, are based on Marvell's GE-DW360F reference design, which includes the Marvell® 88LX3142 G.hn digital baseband processor, the Marvell 88LX2718 G.hn analog front end, and the Marvell 88E1510 Gigabit PHY with a complete TCP/IP protocol stack. In addition to the powerline-Ethernet bridge function, the CIG HN-300-A1CN provides a 12V DC power supply to power optical network terminal (ONT) gateways and set-top boxes (STBs) directly. The CIG HN-100-A1E is a powerline adapter design with a built-in pass-through power socket and easy plug-and-play installation. The Marvell G.hn chipset is ideal for distributing bandwidth-intensive and real-time applications like HD IPTV, VoIP, real-time gaming, and multi-room DVR.
